Registrar for the UN International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals visits the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the framework of his first official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 7 April 2022 Mr. Abubacarr M. Tambadou, Registrar for the UN International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts, visited the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and met with the President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevec, Head of the Criminal Division Judge Minka Kreho, and Registrar for the Court, Emira Hodžić.

During the meeting, the Court representatives talked about the Court’s activities and operations, as well as the main challenges the Court has been facing in war crimes trials, including the Court’s demonstrated commitment to the highest international standards in prosecuting those cases.

Mr. Tambadou thanked his hosts for the warm welcome, exchange of opinions and the information he received during his visit to the Court, stressing the Mechanism’s commitment to continued support for the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its operations.

The meeting was concluded by a mutual overview of the hitherto successful cooperation between the two institutions, which remain open for further improvement of quality interinstitutional cooperation and exchange of experiences.
